PIA Does Not Need to Stand for Pain In Arse

The Cabinet Office has made privacy impact assessments (PIAs) mandatory for over a decade. The replacement for the DPA 1998, the GDPR, makes doing them mandatory.

Colleagues who are under pressure in the business will suddenly have this new requirement, which can be daunting and time-consuming. Most IG Teams are not able to give enough time to each PIA to talk colleagues through it.

This presentation sets out a practical plan to create the right documents and to roll these out so that they are part of business as usual by May 2018, when they will become a legal requirement.
