The session will consider
practical consequences of the GDPR for cloud computing, particularly
regarding the introduction of specific legal obligation for processors to
maintain records of personal data processing activities and the direct
security obligations placed on processors for the first time; creating the
possibility of significant and direct liability of cloud service providers
for security breaches. The session will also consider the methods and
requirements for recovering data and the roles of service provider processors
to deal with the ‘right to be forgotten’ which is enshrined in the GDPR.
