Implementing Retention and Disposal Actions on RecordsNI – a Journey

The NI Government Departments have an EDRMS which manages over 40 million records and 13,500 users, and we have approved Retention and Disposal Schedules.

So, what next?

How do we carry out activities like appraisal, sensitivity reviewing and disposal, with no budget, limited resources and in a changing digital environment? How can we protect our records through their lifecycle, while still meeting legislative obligations and public expectations?

This talk will examine the collaborative journey that the NI Government Departments and PRONI must take to develop and implement the policies and procedures needed to get our records from closure to disposal.
