Digital Solutions Lead, The National Archives
Kerstin Arnold holds a Master degree each in Communication Science and Library and Information Management and has been working in the archives’ domain for more than ten years. Having been part of the project team for the Archives Portal Europe, an initiative funded by the European Union and joined by more than 30 national archives from all across the continent, between 2009 and 2015, Kerstin is now The National Archives’ Digital Solutions Lead and thereby part of the Digital Selection and Transfer Department. Part of her role is looking into challenges around managing digital records from their creation at government departments to preparing their transfer to The National Archives and to enabling continued access and use afterwards. As such Kerstin collaborates with various teams within The National Archives as well as with external partners such as the Cabinet Office and the Better Information for Better Government programme on topics such as providing new tools and adapting existing as well as establishing new processes and workflows.
