With over 30 years of records and document management experience, spanning Microfilm to electronic media, Simon Ellis is currently the Managing Director of Box-it.
Box-it is a leading document management solutions provider offering a range of services and solutions spanning both digital and paper records management. Box-it service clients from varying sectors including numerous NHS Trusts, Government Agencies and Blue Chip organisations.
Simon was involved in designing one of the first computer aided microfilm retrieval systems in the late 80’s and became involved with scanning and EDM in 1989.
In 1997 Simon formed FM Image Management offering scanning services and EDM systems. In 2000 he launched one of the first UK hosted DM systems.
Understanding the need to
transform from Paper to Digital Archive Westminster City Council embarked on
a Council wide declutter programme in 2015. This involved removing active
filing from working areas across multiple departments and implementing hot
desks to promote remote working.
This session will look at the lessons learnt on digital transformation including how to keep costs down and benefits high.
