Records and Information Officer, Financial Ombudsman Service
Vanessa is a recent graduate of UCL’s Archives and Records Management MA course, and has worked as a records management professional since graduating in 2015, when she joined the ombudsman service for the financial services sector as a Records and Information Officer. Previous to this, she was archivist to the Ken Saro-Wiwa Digital Archive Project, on which she has published two academic papers, supported the delivery of a records management service to the Houses of Parliament, and volunteered extensively in the public archives sector. She was the recipient of the Alison North Award for New Professionals in 2015, exploring the use of staff records ‘champions’ in her winning paper, and has also received a new professionals award and bursary from the ARA. She is currently focussing on GDPR readiness project work, working on implementing data retention in systems and the management of corporate email.
