How I learned to stop worrying and to love the ‘delete’ button
It’s almost impossible to comprehend how much data there is and just as remarkable is how fast it’s growing. By 2025, estimates suggest that there will be 181 Zetabytes in data centres around the world, all of which is contributing to our carbon footprint. In this session the Cabinet Office team will discuss the approaches they have taken to purge redundant, outdated and trivial data from their systems, and train the culture of their organisation make pressing the delete button easier and a less frightening prospect.
