David leads on Information and records management and information governance, provides library and records management services to other Government Departments, and leads the department’s discovery activities for the Grenfell and Covid Public Inquiries.
Formerly Government Head of Profession for Knowledge and Information Management Professionals in the Civil Service, David has worked in a number of Government Departments and the European Parliament, and has been the chair of both the Association of Departmental Records Officers and the Committee of Departmental Librarians. Currently he sits on the Information and Records Management Society’s Accreditation Sub-Committee. He is a Chartered member of CILIP, a Fellow of IRMS, and was awarded an OBE for services to Government knowledge and information management.
