Data Sharing and Privacy Specialist, NHSX
Martin began his career in the Civil Service and moved into Healthcare in 2005, taking up the post of Records Manager (which had been vacant for the previous 12 years). He built an RM Department virtually from scratch, from disparate systems and local processes, to the implementation of an Electronic Patient Record and archive. From there, he transferred to NHS England and later joined NHSX, providing Information Governance advice to the wider health and care system across England, including writing guidance for systems and attending conferences and workshops as a speaker. Outside of work, Martin enjoys the great outdoors and recently became a fully qualified cricket umpire to give him something to do on a summer's weekend!
