In the Spotlight: Alice Blogg
Company: Iron Mountain
Job Title: Business Development Manager
What attracted you to the IRMS Conference event?
It's an opportunity to talk to people face-to-face in a relaxed and lively setting and understand what their priorities are, as well as what's 'out there' in terms of industry trends and solutions.
Where do you see the Information Record Management industry heading over the next few years?
Management of digital records continues to be a major theme, especially with the increasing amounts of unstructured data that ever more new systems bring with them. Being able to apply the same tight control which has been brought to bear on physical records on digital, while supporting organisations in their move to be more agile, is a real challenge.
When you think about the industry, what keeps you awake at night?
The 'digital mountains'.
If you have been to the IRMS Conference event before, what was your highlight?
Really interesting discussions around NHS and variability in quality of management of records between Trusts.
What do you feel is the most pressing pain point of end-users in the industry for 2018?
Updating the way they work while keeping the wheels turning.
Who has helped shape your career, and how?
My role gives me a bird's-eye-view of how the same issues are being tackled across the country, so it's like a way of 'crowd-sourcing' ideas around where to go next and how to approach things.
If a time machine could take you anywhere for one day, when/where would you go?
It would have to be London in the Middle Ages or pre-Columbian South America.
