Where Are My Documents?

Documents enter and exit organizations via communication channels. But with a lack of control over these channels, information professionals can struggle with getting a good and helpful overview of the information they have to take care of. In the Netherlands, several organizations made information maps to tackle this problem. Working together with privacy- security- and data-specialists turned out to be extremely helpful. I will show some examples of this information maps, share the process of creating them and the value it gave to strategic decisions on how to mitigate risks in information management.
