Kay Young (she/her) is the Information and Records Management Lead at the Food Standards Agency in UK government. With over 15 years of experience in the profession, she champions digital transformation and information governance across the organisation. She is passionate about building sustainable information ecosystems that support transparency, trust, and better decision-making.
Kay works closely with teams to deliver practical, workable solutions that never compromise on integrity, ethics, or compliance. Her leadership style is rooted in listening, trust, and kindness — she believes in giving people the space to innovate and grow. She has been at the forefront of the FSA’s shift to Microsoft 365 and is especially interested in how AI and automation can support — not replace — thoughtful, responsible information practices. Her pragmatic approach is grounded in real-world experience of balancing innovation with compliance, user needs, and accountability.
