From Policy to Practice: Building the BBC’s Digital Records Management Programme

Joetta Harty is a records specialist with over a decade of experience in information management spanning the public and private sectors, including government, utilities, not‑for‑profit, and higher education organisations in the UK and US. Throughout her career, she has led knowledge services teams, conducted large-scale records analysis, developed and implemented organisation‑wide records management programmes, introduced information governance solutions, and supported archival functions to strengthen long‑term information stewardship. She is currently consulting with the BBC as a Records Management Specialist, where she is responsible for helping establish a comprehensive Records Management Programme.

Joetta holds an MSc in Information and Library Studies from Robert Gordon University and is an active member of IRMS and CILIP.
