WASPI was launched to facilitate the effective and lawful sharing of personal information among services directly concerned with the health, education, safety, crime prevention, and social well-being of people in Wales. The framework WASPI provides has been instrumental in breaking down barriers and fostering a culture of collaboration and trust across Local Authorities, Health Boards and Trusts, Police, and Fire and Rescue services.

WASPI’s consistent approach to information sharing is based around the Information Sharing Protocol (ISP) and other trusted standard document templates that have been constantly developed to maintain their relevance and ease of use.
