Applying AI for Records Management Purposes: Choices and Approaches

We will need both strong data science intuitions and strong records management intuitions if we are to be successful in applying AI for records management purposes. This presentation sets out some of those intuitions.

James looks at the key choices involved in planning an AI implementation for records management purposes. He looks at the data science intuitions necessary to decide which form (or which combination of forms) of artificial intelligence to deploy.  He looks at the records management intuitions necessary in order to decide what target content to apply the AI to, at what level of aggregation, at what stage of the records lifecycle, and for what records management purpose.

He illustrates the talk by discussing potential approaches to three of the most common types of content held by organisations – email accounts, SharePoint sites and shared drive folders.
