Emily Gibbs
Dr Emily Gibbs: I became interested in records and knowledge management while completing my PhD in Cold War History at the University of Liverpool, particularly after delving into archives and libraries. I spent some time lecturing, teaching on the power of lived experiences, storytelling and memory in history. After completing my doctorate, I worked for the National Library of Scotland through a UKRI funded policy internship which involved exploring the legal and policy frameworks of libraries around the world and how personal identifiable information can be protected in archives. In 2020, I started working for the North West Ambulance Service in the Information Governance Team, although spent much of my first year in the NHS supporting front line staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, I moved to my current post, Knowledge Manager, at the trust. In 2023, I began Project 365, a large-scale records management and Microsoft migration project.
