Yağmur Şahin is the Head of Business Development and Data Protection at Data Privacy Simplified, leading strategic growth at the intersection of privacy, cybersecurity and business innovation. With extensive experience across corporate, public and third-sector organisations, she helps clients design and implement information governance frameworks that balance compliance, ethics and operational value.

A qualified lawyer with dual master’s degrees in cybersecurity, Yağmur combines legal, technical and commercial expertise to guide organisations through GDPR compliance, data protection impact assessments and privacy risk management. She also serves as Of Counsel at Kavlak Law Firm and as a member of the IAPP Privacy Engineering Advisory Board, contributing to global standards in privacy and AI governance.

Yağmur holds IAPP CIPP/E, Information Governance Practitioner and AI Governance certifications and was named runner up in the IRMS Information Governance and Records Management Professional of the Year in 2025.
