Covert KIM! The Mission to Implement Behind-the-Scenes Information Governance in Microsoft 365

15:20 - 15:50

‘This is my mission. And I will have no limitations!’ Thomas Shelby.  Information governance in Microsoft 365 is a mission! No doubt about it! And the introduction of CoPilot, means this mission has a countdown!   Such a mission cannot be achieved in a few days, before we waltz off into the sunset like James Bond or Ethan Hunt. It takes time, grit and determination.

In this session Helen Sibson, Head of Information Governance in ICS Digital, will walk you through their ‘Digital Housekeeping’ roadmap, which introduces automated and macro approaches to managing information within Microsoft 365.  She will outline the tools, policies and processes ICS are introducing to fix the future and tackle the legacy of the past, and what the team have learnt along the way.

Key takeaways / learnings

  • A practical case study on introducing information governance standards in a ‘flat-share’ environment (a single Microsoft 365 tenancy used by multiple organisations), with particular focus on SharePoint and Teams.
  • An example of a digital heap action plan in progress.
  • How ICS Digital use Agile working practices to sustain a cycle of regular releases and improvements.
  • A discussion on what Microsoft tooling ICS Digital have utilised, and where their existing tooling has fallen short (Purview, SharePoint Premium etc.).
