The Information and Records Management Society (IRMS) today announced that representatives from NHS Blood and Transport, and Citizens Advice Scotland are the beneficiaries of its IRMS Conference 2025 bursary scheme. Sukhvir Kaur and Anna Lisowska will join more than 400 practitioners, compliance managers, senior executives at The Hilton Birmingham Metropole (NEC) from 18th to 20th May.
The IRMS Conference is the go-to annual event in the information management calendar. As part of the society’s commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and helping young people get a head start in the industry, the IRMS operates a bursary scheme that provides funded conference places. IRMS Conference Director, Paulina Jedwabska, states: “We are proud of the bursary scheme and the positive impact it has had on the careers of past beneficiaries and the organisations they work with. This year we look forward to giving a warm welcome to our latest cohort.”
Bursary recipient Sukhvir Kaur, who was recently appointed as the Records & Disclosure Manager for NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), comments on her expectations for the conference: “As this year’s theme at the IRMS Conference is all about tackling challenges when it comes to records management and information governance, I could not think of a better opportunity to learn and take away best practices to implement change effectively across NHSBT.”
Also attending conference as part of the bursary scheme is Anna Lisowska, Data Governance Officer at Citizens Advice Scotland. Anna added: “The world of data governance is still quite new to me so I’m excited to meet new people and build my network within the industry. I’m also interested in learning more about best practice and building on this in my role at Citizens Advice Scotland to ensure we continue to manage our records in the most safe and efficient way possible.”
