As of October 2025, non-EU Nationals (subject to very few exceptions) must register their biometric data when they enter any EU country. That data may include fingerprints and face biometrics. Personal data, including those biometrics, will be used in a ‘biometric matching service’, which may be accessed not just by borderforce, for the purposes of entry and exit of EU Countries, but also Law Enforcement, internationally.
