From Policy to Practice: Building the BBC’s Digital Records Management Programme
How do you turn records management policy into practical tools that staff can use to manage electronic records? This joint session shares how the BBC is developing its Digital Records Management Programme and embedding records management practices across the organisation.
The presentation will highlight key programme artefacts, including policies and standards, staff training, and the operating model that defines roles and responsibilities.
In particular, it will describe the development of a SharePoint-based system for publishing the organisation’s retention schedule and associated file plans, much of it done through the user interface.
Attendees will gain practical insights into developing a cost-conscious approach to implementing retention scheduling and records management in a Microsoft 365 environment.
